Lin Chin | Partner

Lin works with public, philanthropic, and community partners to design and implement programs that make neighborhoods more equitably livable. She has more than a decade of experience working in and with local government to expand access to affordable, sustainable housing.

Prior to joining Ground Works, Lin worked at the nonprofit organization Hello Housing, where she now serves on the Board of Directors, focusing on equity-centered outreach for homeownership programs and making ADUs a more viable housing solution for working families. Lin also worked on strategic initiatives at the City of Oakland, concentrating on interagency approaches to address the foreclosure crisis, abandoned properties, community resilience, and green & healthy housing. The child of immigrants from southeast Asia, Lin’s passion for economic and housing justice is driven by lived experience on both sides of this country’s racial-economic divide. She received her bachelor’s degree from Harvard and her law degree from UC Berkeley.
